A story about Space
for your 3rd Grader.

Vivian was a young girl with a big love for music. Every day, she would play her piano, filling her home with beautiful melodies. One night, as she was playing, she heard a strange sound. It was a melody, but it wasn't coming from her piano. It was coming from the sky!

Vivian rushed outside and looked up at the stars. One star seemed to twinkle in time with the melody. 'That must be the star Musica,' she thought. 'I've read about it in my space book. But how can a star make music?'

Vivian decided to find out. She ran to her room and grabbed her space book. She read about stars, galaxies, and the vast universe. But there was nothing about a star making music. 'I need to learn its secret,' she said.

The next day, Vivian started her quest. She drew a star chart, with Musica at the center. 'This is like a musical score,' she thought. 'Maybe I can decode it.'

Vivian spent days trying to decode the star chart. She played different melodies on her piano, but none of them matched the melody from Musica. 'This is harder than I thought,' she said. 'But I won't give up.'

One night, as Vivian was looking at the star chart, she noticed something. The stars around Musica formed a pattern. 'It's a constellation,' she said. 'And it looks like a musical note!'

Vivian played the note on her piano. It matched the melody from Musica! 'I've decoded the star chart,' she said. 'The stars are telling me the melody.'

But Vivian's quest wasn't over. She wanted to hear the melody from Musica itself. So she built a spaceship, using her space book as a guide. 'I'm going to Musica,' she said.
