A story about Big feelings
for your Kindergartener.

King Doodle Bum woke up bright and early in his grand, shiny palace. He stretched his arms and looked around with a big yawn. Today, the air was sweet and smelled of chocolate!

He sniffed the air and noticed something was missing. There was no chocolate on the table! Feeling worried, he called, “Zibloo, where are you?”

Outside the bedroom, shiny chandeliers hung from the tall ceiling, glimmering like candy wrappers. Their golden lights sparkled, but no chocolate could be seen on the floors.

King Doodle Bum rushed down the hallway, his big royal shoes clacking on the floor. He felt a flutter in his tummy whenever he thought about not having any chocolate at all.

At the palace doors, Zibloo arrived to help. “I will scan for chocolate with my alien eyes,” Zibloo said, wiggling his antenna. The two friends began searching together.

They passed a magical chocolate fountain that bubbled up rich cocoa streams, but each cup nearby was empty. Where had all the chocolate gone?

King Doodle Bum felt his heart pound fast. This disappointment made him feel a bit shaky. He remembered a tip his parents once gave: taking a deep breath can help calm big feelings.

Zibloo gave King Doodle Bum a gentle pat. “When we feel upset, it helps to talk about it,” Zibloo said. “Let’s keep looking. We might find a happy surprise.”
