A story about Respect
for your 1st Grader.

A young girl named Vivian lived in a colorful neighborhood known for its musicality. Vivian loved music more than anything else. She played the piano, the violin, and even the drums.

One sunny day, Vivian heard about an upcoming music competition at her local music school. She was thrilled! She wanted to win and started practicing day and night.

Vivian was so focused on the competition that she started to neglect her friends. She didn't have time to play or chat. She even forgot her brother's birthday!

Her friends felt ignored and her family felt disrespected. But Vivian was too busy practicing to notice. She thought winning the competition was all that mattered.

One day, Vivian's piano teacher, Mrs. Harmon, noticed her behavior. She decided to talk to Vivian about the importance of respect and politeness.

'Vivian,' Mrs. Harmon said, 'Music is about harmony, not just in notes, but in life too. You must respect others and be patient. Winning isn't everything.'

Vivian thought about Mrs. Harmon's words. She realized she had been rude to her friends and family. She felt sorry and decided to make things right.

The next day, Vivian apologized to her friends and promised to spend more time with them. She also planned a belated surprise party for her brother.
