The Great Garden Gift

A story about Sharing
for your 2nd Grader.

Queen Neena walked through the royal garden, admiring the fluttering butterflies and the colorful blossoms. She smiled because she loved exploring every inch of her busy kingdom.

A shiny basket of tiny seeds sat on a wooden stool. The seeds sparkled like little treasures under the warm sun, waiting to be planted in the soft soil.

Brutus, a purple warthog with a big grin, trotted near the rosebushes. He giggled and thought of a new joke he could share with anyone who passed by.

Queen Neena carefully picked up the basket of seeds. She planned to grow them by herself so the garden would become the finest in the land.

Water splashed playfully at the grand fountain in the middle of the garden. The silvery drops leaped high before falling back with a gentle pitter-patter.

Brutus snorted with delight as he told a silly riddle: “Why did the flower bring a ladder?” he asked. He burst out laughing at his own punchline.

Queen Neena walked in slow circles, thinking about planting all those tiny seeds alone. She remembered that sharing a big task can bring new friends and fresh ideas.

Bright red, pink, and yellow flowers swayed in long rows. The air smelled sweet, like candy, and bees buzzed around searching for tasty nectar.
