A story about Big feelings
for your 4th Grader.

In a small sunlit town surrounded by nature, lived a shy baby girl named Sofia. Sofia loved rainbows. She loved how they painted the sky with their vibrant colors after a rainy day. But one day, a beautiful rainbow she was admiring disappeared, leaving her with an overwhelming feeling of sadness.

Sofia's parents noticed her sadness. 'Why the long face, Sofia?' her mother asked. 'The rainbow... it's gone,' Sofia replied, her voice barely a whisper. Her parents hugged her, 'Rainbows may disappear, Sofia, but they always come back after the rain.'

But Sofia couldn't shake off her sadness. She decided to embark on a journey to find the rainbow. Her parents, although worried, supported her. 'Remember, Sofia, it's okay to feel sad. But don't let it stop you from seeing the beauty around you,' her father advised.

On her journey, Sofia met a grumpy old turtle. 'Why are you so grumpy?' Sofia asked. 'I'm just naturally slow, and it makes me grumpy,' the turtle replied. Sofia realized that everyone has their own struggles and feelings, and it's okay to feel them.

Next, Sofia met a hyperactive squirrel. 'Why are you so hyper?' Sofia asked. 'I have so much energy, and it makes me hyper,' the squirrel replied. Sofia learned that it's okay to have high energy and feel excited.

Then, Sofia met a calm and serene swan. 'Why are you so calm?' Sofia asked. 'I find peace in the water, and it makes me calm,' the swan replied. Sofia understood that finding peace in something can help manage overwhelming feelings.

Sofia continued her journey, meeting more creatures and learning about their feelings. She realized that she was not alone in her feelings and that it's okay to feel a wide range of emotions.

One day, Sofia woke up to the sound of rain. She felt a mix of emotions - sadness, excitement, calmness. She remembered her father's words, 'Rainbows always come back after the rain.'
