A story about Potty Training
for your 4th Grader.

Sir Liang the Brave woke early in Rookshire to the bright chirping of bluebirds. He couldn’t wait to begin his day of exploring, but something felt different. His parents had quietly told him that soon, he would have a new baby sister sharing his room, and it made his heart flutter with both excitement and worry.

A gentle breeze blew across a silver rocking cradle in the center of the room. It gleamed in the morning light, appearing both welcoming and mysterious at the same time.

“I am not sure if I am ready,” Sir Liang the Brave whispered, gazing at the cradle. He imagined a sweet little baby resting there, and he wondered if she would like to share his space. Just then, bubbles of doubt popped in his mind and, feeling uneasy, he set off to seek advice from someone very wise.

In the bustling streets of Rookshire, Sir Liang the Brave overheard neighbors chatting about the new arrival. “You’ll be an excellent big brother,” one said. But he still worried there was no room in his life for such a big change. Taking a deep breath, he decided to visit the Dragon of Wisdom, who lived in a towering stone cave.

Outside the cave entrance, a glowing runestone stood. Tiny carvings swirled around its surface, reflecting flickers of torchlight in twinkling patterns. Sir Liang the Brave reached out and felt a gentle warmth flowing from the stone, as though it was encouraging him to be brave.

Stepping into the cave, Sir Liang the Brave called, “Dragon of Wisdom, are you there?” A deep rumble echoed. “I sense uncertainty in your voice,” replied the Dragon of Wisdom. Sir Liang the Brave’s cheeks reddened, but he summoned his courage. “I’m worried about the baby sister who will share my room,” he admitted.

The Dragon of Wisdom rose from a ridge of rocks. “Change arrives like a swift wind,” the Dragon proclaimed. “It can unsettle us before we realize how wonderful it might be. I will guide you through the magical land of Change, where you can learn to welcome your sister without fear.”

A tall, enchanted door opened with a slow creak, revealing a polished throne with a small plush cushion placed upon it. A gentle hum of magic filled the air, making the throne seem important and slightly intimidating.
