Princess Zoombella and the Rain Cloud's Secret

A story about Where does rain come from?

for your 2nd Grader.

Princess Zoombella - who is black - stands in the middle of bright blossoms, smiling softly. In the background, rolling hills fill the horizon.

Princess Zoombella loved to wander through her favorite meadow, where flowers of every color swayed in the warm breeze. She liked to watch butterflies flutter above the petals and sniff the sweet air.

A gray, puffy cloud with a sad face floats low in the sky. In the background, soft clouds scatter across a blue sky.

One day, she noticed a small, lonely rain cloud drifting overhead. It looked gray and droopy, like it needed a hug.

Brutus the purple warthog waves with one hoof, smiling widely. In the background, a path winds through tall grass.

Just then, Brutus, her fun-loving warthog friend, trotted up with a goofy grin. He was ready to share silly jokes and bright laughter with everyone he met.

Princess Zoombella - who is black - kneels, gazing up at the sky with concern. In the background, bright flowers gently sway.

Princess Zoombella pointed to the sad cloud. “It looks like it wants to cry,” she whispered, her heart full of kindness.

Brutus stands on his hind legs, looking up at the sky with a curious expression. In the background, daisies peek through the grass.

“Oh dear,” said Brutus, wiggling his short tail. “Maybe my best jokes will cheer it up! But how do we talk to a cloud?”

A small gray cloud hovers close to the flowers, seeming to droop. In the background, a gentle breeze stirs the petals.

Princess Zoombella took a step forward and called softly, “Hello there, little cloud! Why are you so sad today?”

Princess Zoombella - who is black - stands with her hands on her hips, listening closely. In the background, sunlight sparkles on the meadow.

The cloud sighed and rumbled, “I wish I could help the flowers below, but I have no raindrops left. I gather water from lakes and rivers, but the sun has been so warm that I feel empty.”

Brutus tilts his head back, roaring with laughter. In the background, a gentle breeze moves the tall grass.

Brutus chuckled and said, “Hey, cloud! Listen to this hilarious joke: Why do elephants wear sneakers? Because their slippers keep falling off!” The cloud let out a tiny thunder giggle.
