Calamity Kate and the Missing Cards

A story about Valentine's Day
for your Baby.

Calamity Kate sits in the warm kitchen. She holds red paper and shiny stickers. Crackle, crackle, goes the fire. She smiles and hums a little tune.

Blue pokes his nose inside. "Neigh!" he says. Calamity Kate laughs and pats his neck. She loves her gentle pony so much.

Snip, snip go the scissors. Tiny hearts fall on the floor. A big box of ribbons waits nearby.

“I will make cards for all my dear friends,” says Calamity Kate. She carefully glues a pink heart on each card.

Blue watches and nods his head. He seems to say, "Hurry, let’s ride soon!" But Kate keeps working slowly.

Sparkly hearts shine bright under the lamp. Glue drips a little, but it holds tight. Kate hums happily.

She finishes each Valentine with love. Then Calamity Kate counts them. "Oh dear," she whispers. "Some are missing!"

Blue stomps his hoof. "We will find them," Kate says. She puts on her hat. "Let’s search the barn first!"
